In this week’s spotlight are on Berta and Lucena at the Cebu Bible Seminary Cafeteria.
They work long hours, often from 5:00 AM to 6:00 PM, cooking and preparing the food.
They keep CBS cafeteria sparkling clean. Students at CBS are served in the Cafeteria
dining room. The gas, stoves, ovens, and refrigerators are busy running under their
hands. They are helped by a rotating group of CBS students. All their efforts are under
the supervision of Yolanda Carlson and President Carmelito Joyohoy.
This semester all meals are prepared by students under Berta and Lucena’s overseeing.
An exception is Wednesday noon when a regular meal is served to the teachers and CBS
students to allow them to attend Chapel. We hope that the students’ budget will improve
and they can return, at the CBS Boards approval, to preparing regular meals.
